Lucas Beraldo, a 22-year-old Brazilian defender, has managed to earn some playing time but has never fully established himself as a reliable starter for big matches since joining Paris Saint-Germain in January 2024 (contract until 2028). Foot Mercato now reports that PSG is considering selling him, while the player himself would like more playing time.
“According to our information, discussions have now begun within PSG’s management. Luis Campos is aware that the player still has good market value: estimated at €25 million by Transfermarkt, his transfer could significantly boost the club’s winter transfer budget.
While the Brazilian media are already mentioning interest from Flamengo and Palmeiras, Beraldo (22) would prefer to stay in Europe. With the 2026 World Cup in sight, he knows he needs to be playing at the highest level.”
One should remain cautious, as this is still just a rumour. There is no official announcement, and we should not forget that Beraldo recently responded on social media to deny any desire to leave.
However, a departure is not out of the question for a defender who has yet to fully convince. PSG may have a plan, and the Brazilian knows he needs regular playing time to give himself the best chance of making the World Cup squad. We will have to wait and see where this leads, especially since there is still room for him at PSG—provided he manages to show greater defensive consistency.
