Gianluigi Donnarumma, 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper (contract until 2026), is at the heart of rumors. His departure is now confirmed, as Lucas Chevalier (23, French national team) has arrived from Lille to replace him. We are still waiting to learn the destination. La Gazzetta dello Sport confirmed this Thursday that a transfer to Manchester City is in the pipeline.
“An agreement is currently being negotiated between ManCity and PSG for Donnarumma. The deal is likely to be below €40 million.
Gazzetta”
A rather credible announcement, since Manchester City currently seems the most likely destination. It’s a club that could obviously interest Donnarumma, with the ambition of winning major titles in a very good team.
There are also financial means to convince the Italians and PSG. This comes at a price that seems reasonable here, rather than the €50 million request placed according to some media reports. But it’s logical in negotiations to start with a fairly high price. The negotiation could well end up somewhere above €30 million.
Donnarumma is a goalkeeper who is among the world’s top players, but he’s being pushed towards the exit and only has one year left on his contract. Paris is forced to make an effort. Things could move quickly, while Ederson (31) seems to be getting closer to Galatasaray. Be careful, though, as nothing is certain yet.
