Pedro Fernandez Sarmiento, often called Dro Fernandez, is reportedly very close to joining Paris Saint-Germain this winter. The 18-year-old midfielder doesn’t want to extend his contract, which expires in 2027, with FC Barcelona and has a €6 million release clause that PSG is expected to trigger. Le Parisien now reports that the player was excluded from training this Monday.
“According to our information, the young striker was excluded from the professional group for training this Monday, two days before Barça’s trip to Prague in the Champions League.”
This is significant; Barça is angry with their player. However, the move to PSG is not yet confirmed. But there’s a feeling that Dro Fernandez has already firmly decided to leave his boyhood club. This is not going down well, and understandably so.
Especially if a signing does indeed go through in Paris, since it’s a competitor in Europe, even a real rival given their history over the last 15 years. Now, this should also prompt PSG to speed things up if they truly want to finalize the deal. They don’t want the midfield to lose momentum while waiting for the signing.
