Presnel Kimpembe, 30-year-old Paris Saint-Germain central defender whose contract expires in June 2026, has returned to competitive action for the 2024-25 season after two years out of action. But he will struggle to find space and is now being pushed towards the exit. Foot Mercato confirmed this Thursday an upcoming transfer to Qatar Sports Club.
“2018 World Cup winner Presnel Kimpembe (30), whose salary and level are now incompatible with the reigning European champion club, is approaching Qatar, specifically Qatar Sports Club.”
There aren’t many countries where the transfer window is open anymore, but Qatar and Saudi Arabia may offer some solutions. This is the country most frequently mentioned for Kimpembe and is a credible option, particularly given the link between PSG and Qatar. At least it’s a credible league for the defender, who will have a hard time staying at the highest European level.
That’s why this possible transfer is great news for PSG. It’s difficult to find a way out for this player who has barely played in two years. Almost no matter how much money is required, it would be better than nothing.
