Sevilla FC’s 25-year-old central defender Loïc Badé recently turned down an offer from Bournemouth despite a €30 million agreement between the clubs. According to Le Parisien, the English club remains actively seeking a successor to 22-year-old Ilya Zabarnyi, who is soon to be in Paris.
“Despite a €30 million agreement between Sevilla and Bournemouth, Loïc Badé is rebuffing Bournemouth’s advances! Bournemouth continues its search for a replacement for Zabarnyi.
Le Parisien”
Bournemouth is having a particularly difficult summer in the defensive transfer market. The English club must not only prepare for the departure of Illya Zabarnyi, who is preparing to join Paris Saint-Germain, but also for Dean Huijsen, a promising young defender recently transferred to Real Madrid for a sum exceeding €60 million. These simultaneous departures of two defensive pillars leave a significant void in the central defence.
This double hemorrhage partly explains the slow progress of the search for Zabarnyi’s successor, such as Loïc Badé, whose arrival has been hampered by several hesitations. Bournemouth is looking to rebuild a solid and competitive defense, but PSG must wait, and this transfer window is definitely taking a long time to get going.
