Emmanuel Mbemba, an 18-year-old defender developed at Paris Saint-Germain and under contract until 2026, has been tipped to leave this summer—with the Bundesliga notably mentioned as a potential destination. L’Équipe now reports that the PSG academy graduate is set to join AS Monaco.
Emmanuel Mbemba (18), who has attracted interest from major European clubs (such as Arsenal and Leverkusen) as well as French side Paris FC, looks set to sign with AS Monaco. This promising left-footed center-back—who can also play at left-back—turned down a professional contract offer from PSG a few weeks ago.
Unfortunately, this outcome seems quite likely. Mbemba received an offer from PSG but may prefer a different path for his career, particularly one offering a more realistic prospect of playing time—though a loan move could also have been an option.
Of course, a move is no guarantee of success, but neither is staying put. Nothing in a career is ever certain; one simply has to make the best possible choices—much like clubs do during the transfer window. Moving to Monaco is far from an irrational decision, and one can only wish the PSG-trained defender every success.
