Ibrahim Mbaye, an 18-year-old forward developed at Paris Saint-Germain and under professional contract until 2028, has carved out a small role in the first-team squad but has not yet secured regular playing time. There has been talk of a contract extension or a transfer window departure. Since Tuesday evening, several journalists have reported interest from Liverpool and Bayer Leverkusen. Djamel confirms that the Reds are targeting him alongside Bradley Barcola, PSG’s 23-year-old forward.

This is a reliable media source and the whole scenario makes sense, so it is quite plausible that Liverpool might attempt this major double signing. However, it is far from a done deal. The cost is estimated at at least €200 million, as PSG will not be handing out any bargains.
Furthermore, while negotiating for a single player can already be very complicated, this adds a layer of difficulty by requiring agreements on two separate valuations. However, the two deals could potentially be negotiated separately, even though the discussions would inevitably influence one another.
Not to mention that other clubs could step in with an attractive offer—such as Leverkusen for Mbaye. That could be a very tempting option for his development. In any case, nothing is finalized yet; we will have to wait to see how it all plays out.
