After showing interest in 20-year-old Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi, Paris Saint-Germain is now focusing on RB Leipzig’s 19-year-old winger, Yan Diomandé. However, according to the latest reports from Djamel, the two matters are unrelated; it was solely the fee demanded by the English club that cooled the Parisian management’s interest.
“The player wants to join PSG”
“The two matters are unrelated. Regarding Kroupi, the player wants to join PSG, but the price demanded by Bournemouth is far too high at the moment.
The English club is asking for around €100 million, a figure that has significantly cooled the Parisian management’s interest.
It remains to be seen if the English club decides to lower its asking price, but that is not the case for now.”
For four seasons now, PSG has taken a very firm stance in negotiations. If the English club is too demanding regarding its player, it makes perfect sense for PSG to turn to other targets. However, while the Yan Diomandé situation is heating up right now, interest could just as easily cool off if RB Leipzig’s executives ask for too much for their player.
This is obviously a situation to watch very closely. However, one should also expect negotiations to drag on. For a player with such immense potential who is under contract until 2030, the asking price will likely be astronomical. It remains to be seen whether the German club will be more open to negotiations than the English club, and above all, whether PSG will pull out all the stops to sign the Ivorian international.
