Bradley Barcola, a 23-year-old forward signed by Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2023 on a contract running until June 2028, has established himself at both PSG and the French national team. However, at PSG, he remains something of a substitute for big matches. His situation is fueling transfer rumors this summer, with speculation ranging from a contract extension to a departure. In recent hours, numerous media outlets have reported that the player is refusing to extend his contract. Yet, according to journalists Fabrice Hawkins (RMC Sport) and Ben Jacobs (TalkSport), PSG’s asking price is very high.

Citing the recent sales of Morgan Rogers and Elliot Anderson as benchmarks, Paris Saint-Germain is asking for around €170 million for Bradley Barcola. Liverpool wants to sign the player but values the French international below that figure. There are no negotiations between the clubs at the moment. Bradley Barcola will not extend his contract at PSG, but his departure this summer is not yet a certainty.

BREAKING: PSG value Bradley Barcola at €170m and are using the transfers of Morgan Rogers and Elliot Anderson as valuation yardsticks. The number factors in that Barcola is a back-to-back Champions League winner, had a strong World Cup and is only 23.

Plus, multiple clubs have made enquiries. PSG are prepared to sell, though, and Liverpool will hope to get the price down. Luis Enrique has been clear that he only wants players committed to PSG, and that he won’t guarantee anyone a starting spot.

These claims are quite credible, given that PSG still has time to negotiate, with two years remaining on the contract. This leaves plenty of options for the future. Furthermore, as journalists have pointed out, we have seen some major transfers this summer. It would make sense for a Barcola deal to be finalized at over €100 million. While the €170 million figure might be a bit of an exaggeration, it sets the tone and makes a transfer in the €150 million range seem more plausible.

It is also likely that the Parisian club will want to secure a major signing to replace Barcola before greenlighting his departure. That said, nothing is set in stone yet; the transfer market can move very quickly. The coming weeks promise to be intense, and the outcome remains uncertain. There is no need for panic at PSG, however; one can assume the summer has been well planned.
