Yan Diomande, a 19-year-old forward for RB Leipzig (under contract until 2030) and the Ivory Coast national team, has been heavily linked to Paris Saint-Germain in recent weeks. However, nothing has materialized, and other clubs are now being mentioned. According to numerous media outlets and journalists, Real Madrid has submitted an initial offer and could well beat PSG to the signing in a deal worth over €100 million.

Real Madrid have entered the race to sign Yan Diomande and are in talks with RB Leipzig over a potential deal for the 19-year-old winger.
Paris Saint-Germain remain keen on the Ivory Coast international and Diomande had made the European champions his preference, but they have not yet shown a willingness to offer a level of fee that would convince Leipzig to consider a sale this summer.
The German club had been holding out for a fee closer to €130m while also trying to tie Diomande, whose existing contract runs through to the summer of 2030, to a new deal — and are hopeful he will remain at the club beyond the summer window.

Real Madrid is taking the first steps toward signing RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomandé. The Spanish club has already made contact with the German side to ascertain the terms of a potential transfer for one of the most promising young talents.
These initial discussions have served to gauge the feasibility of a deal to be executed this summer—one that, in principle, would cost no less than 90 million euros.
However, no agreement has been reached yet, and talks between the clubs remain in the early stages.

All these announcements came out almost simultaneously last night; while they don’t provide absolute certainty, they are nonetheless significant. These are generally reliable journalists, and they usually align quickly for good reason. It would be surprising if Real Madrid hadn’t actually made a move for Diomande.
It remains to be seen to what extent the Madrid club can reach an agreement with Leipzig and whether the winger is ready to sign for Madrid—both entirely plausible scenarios. Real has substantial financial resources; President Florentino Pérez had even promised a €150 million signing. That may have been an exaggeration, but it reflected the intention to bring in a “major” signing this summer—specifically an attacking player. For the Ivorian international, the destination is undoubtedly tempting. Even though the Madrid team has faced some struggles recently, it remains one of the biggest clubs in the world.
The club has embarked on a sort of revival with the arrival of coach José Mourinho this summer. While his recent record has been less stellar, he retains a certain aura, and working with him can be an attractive prospect for a player. However, PSG isn’t necessarily out of the running yet. There is only one offer on the table; everything remains open, and Paris still has potential selling points. That said, one has to wonder whether PSG intends to leverage its assets in this deal or if it is focusing on a different target. Deals involving PSG that drag on without confirmation rarely come to fruition. One would more likely expect a “surprise” signing—a deal prepared quietly behind the scenes and wrapped up quickly in the public eye.
