Luis Enrique, Paris Saint-Germain’s coach since the summer of 2023, arrived in the capital with a two-year contract and then extended his stay until 2027. The time is gradually approaching to make a decision about his future. There were rumors of a disagreement and a possible departure this summer, and journalist Fabrizio Romano addressed them on DAZN.
“They’re already working on the summer transfer window!”
“The rumors about Luis Enrique? None of it is true, it’s a lie. I can guarantee that 100%, having spoken with sources close to Luis Enrique and within the club itself.
There is absolutely no problem between Luis Enrique and Paris Saint-Germain. They will stay together, they are very happy together, and they are already working on the summer transfer window!
“All parties are very satisfied.”
PSG is currently very happy with its squad! We’ll see what transfers they make this summer, but for now, everything is fine and they want to continue together. All parties are very satisfied and there are no problems!”
These are clear statements from a generally reliable journalist, and they should generally “calm” the situation. In any case, this desire to leave wasn’t particularly credible. Especially since English media outlets were relying on Bild, which said nothing to that effect.
It was primarily an opportunity to generate buzz, given the recent flurry of activity surrounding managers in England. Luis Enrique seems happy at PSG, who have no reason to encourage him to leave.
However, a contract extension is far from guaranteed. The Spanish coach has never stayed at the same club for more than four years, recently explaining that he can sometimes run out of “energy.” Perhaps he’ll finally break through this barrier in 2027. At least the project is heading in the right direction.
