Marco Asensio, Paris Saint-Germain’s 29-year-old midfielder/attacker under contract until 2026, failed to fully establish himself with coach Luis Enrique. So he was loaned out to Aston Villa for the second half of the 2024-2025 season, but was not retained by the English club. After his return, we’re waiting to find out what his future holds. The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Fenerbahçe, but Inter Milan have also been rumoured to be interested since this morning. A lead confirmed by journalist Alfredo Pedulla for Caughoffside.
“Inter Milan are investigating the possibility of signing Spanish attacking midfielder Marco Asensio this summer, with the player apparently tempted by the transfer.
The Nerazzuri are very interested in a player of this profile this summer, and several other attacking midfielders are also under consideration. Nothing has yet been decided about Asensio’s future, but it’s something to keep an eye on over the coming days”.
It’s a confirmation that invites us to at least seriously consider that Inter Milan will try their luck for Asensio. However, it’s not enough to be sure that a discussion is underway, let alone a possible deal. There’s always Asensio’s salary, which could be a major obstacle.
So we’ll have to wait and see for certain, but at least there’s hope that PSG and the Spaniard will find a good option for the future when he no longer has a place in Paris. We’ll have to wait and see what’s concrete in the midst of the rumours, sometimes launched by agents or clubs to put pressure on negotiations.
