Having arrived in the 2023 summer mercato from Inter Milan, 30-year-old defender Milan Skriniar has not made the move to Paris Saint-Germain. His contract expires in June 2028, and he has been loaned out to Fenerbahçe for the second half of the 2024-2025 season. He has bounced back well and there has been talk of a permanent move to the Turkish club this summer. This Saturday, Fanatik and Foot Mercato report that the two clubs have reached an agreement. The same goes for Marco Asensio (29-year-old attacking midfielder). Everything should be officially settled in the next few days.
Fanatik :
Fenerbahçe plans to bring Marco Asensio and Milan Škriniar to Istanbul this week for the medical check-up and official signing, after reaching an agreement with both players!
Foot Mercato :
“PSG and Fenerbahçe reach agreement for Milan Škriniar and Marco Asensio
4-year contract for Škriniar and salary of €7.5m per year
Final details to be settled”
There’s always a certain amount of caution until there’s an official announcement, but there’s very little doubt in this case. All the media have been pointing in the same direction for several days now, with 2 agreeing in a very short space of time. This is the logical outcome, and we can expect a concrete announcement soon.
PSG should therefore be able to complete this double operation, with players who arrived free, who have been struggling in Paris, but who are leaving for a relatively attractive sum (around 10 million euros each).
It remains to be seen whether there will be a 3rd player in the deal, although some have been mentioned (such as Nordi Mukiele or Lee Kang-In). There has also been talk of an interest in Yusuf Akçiçek (19-year-old defender).
