Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 26-year-old goalkeeper who joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 with a contract until 2026 (following the end of his contract at AC Milan), is at the heart of the rumors. His extension is not forthcoming and there is talk of a departure, with Lucas Chevalier (23, Lille and French national team) to replace him. Daily Mirror claims that the goalkeeper wants to join an English club.
Nothing is impossible, since a cohabitation between Donnarumma and Chevalier at PSG would be rather surprising. And seems like a bad idea. Manchester United could be looking for a goalkeeper, and the opportunity leading to the Italian could be very tempting.
The latter would therefore not play in the Champions League after having played there, but the Premier League is prestigious, and there is the challenge of bringing this great, historic club back to the forefront. It’s also a risk, as things have been complicated for the Mancunian club recently.
Be careful, nothing is decided yet, and many outcomes remain possible. But it’s definitely a case that makes sense.
