A relatively credible rumour, given that Diogo Costa is a talented goalkeeper and PSG need to be prepared in the event of a problem with Donnarumma. However, we’re bound to remain cautious in the absence of any concrete information.
Not least because Donnarumma and his agent have repeatedly stated that the priority is to extend his contract. They have even expressed a certain optimism. As nothing has happened in the other direction, this remains the most likely outcome.
In recent hours, other media outlets have reported that Manchester City are interested in Diogo Costa, with a possible offer of €60 million for a player with a €70 million release clause.
This rumour could well have come from Porto or the keeper’s entourage in order to put pressure on him. Or it could simply be a media outlet taking advantage of the situation to “spice things up”.
