Having arrived in the summer transfer window in July 2023 from Mallorca, Lee Kang-in, a 24-year-old Korean midfielder/winger, is under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028. He has achieved some great things, but is struggling to fully establish himself, and there is talk of a departure this transfer window. Today, Djamel assures that PSG has made its choice for the South Korean.
“There has been interest in Lee Kang-in for a while. Initially, the club was very open to a departure, but since the resumption, management is ultimately considering keeping him (unless a major offer is made).
In any case, if he were to leave the club, he would be replaced before the end of the transfer window.”
There has been talk of a possible transfer, but the door now seems to be closing. Perhaps because PSG doesn’t have a satisfactory replacement for the highly versatile, combative, and ultimately relatively often decisive Lee. It’s not easy to find a player who accepts competition by potentially being an understudy and who can fit in well with coach Luis Enrique’s style of play.
But beware, a move could happen quickly. It may depend on opportunities, both the offers received and potential signings. One example is Maghnes Akliouche (23), often touted as ready to sign for Paris but “blocked” by an excessively high asking price from AS Monaco.
Things can move quickly during the transfer window, especially between now and the end of the transfer window on September 1st at 8 p.m. For now, however, Lee is heading towards another season at PSG.
