Ibrahima Konaté, the 26-year-old center-back for France and Liverpool (under contract until 2026), is in talks to extend his contract. But he has also been mentioned as a target for Paris Saint-Germain this summer. Sports Zone reports that PSG are very confident, with a plan that could involve patience.
“Ibrahima Konaté: Paris knows that time is on its side.
Paris dreams of a defensive sector with 3 top-class players in Pacho, Zabarnyi and Ibou Konaté.
Paris doesn’t mind waiting a year to see it take shape”
PSG’s interest in Konaté is entirely credible. He’s an excellent defender, with many good years left in him and a certain attachment to Paris. In fact, that’s one reason to think he might want to come. Marquinhos (31) won’t last forever, so he could be a solution for the future. And with a possible reduction in expenditure thanks to the end of his contract.
However, nothing is certain either. We don’t know if PSG really want to move forward, or wait until the end of his contract. Konaté could also very well extend his contract or move to another club. There are far too many uncertainties at the moment. But it’s something to keep an eye on.
