Arriving in the 2023 summer transfer window from Inter Milan, 30-year-old defender Milan Skriniar has not made a name for himself at Paris Saint-Germain. His contract ends in June 2028 and he has been loaned to Fenerbahçe for the second half of the 2024-2025 season. He has bounced back well and there is now talk of a permanent transfer this summer to the Turkish club. This Monday, L’Equipe reports that this is close to being completed.
“Back in Paris to resume training with the U21 squad, Milan Skriniar must have been feeling the strain these past few days. The defender is forced to come to training by taxi and stay in a hotel while awaiting a resolution in the talks between Fenerbahçe and Paris Saint-Germain.
The two clubs were finalizing a transfer agreement in the last few hours for a transfer estimated at €10 million. Paris now believes the Slovak could be transferred within the week.”
We remain cautious, as the transfer has been announced as a done deal, or almost done, for several days now. Except that there has been no official confirmation yet, which leaves some doubt. Even though we suspect that Skriniar’s future lies with Fenerbahçe, barring any major surprises.
So let’s wait a little longer before celebrating, but also to know the exact amount of the deal, which fluctuates between €10 and €15 million (with bonuses). There is at least the feeling that the Parisian transfer window will materialize soon.
