Dayot Upamecano, the 27-year-old defender for the French national team and Bayern Munich, is at the center of transfer rumors as his contract expires in June 2026. Paris Saint-Germain has been mentioned in connection with this. The player was asked to clarify the situation in an interview with L’Equipe.
Upamecano: “I’m very grateful if there are clubs interested in me.”
“Didier Deschamps said he wanted his players’ futures settled before the start of the World Cup. Will that be the case for you?”
“I hope so. My agent is handling it. We’ll make the right decision. I’m getting good advice. I’m focused on my season, on my club and national team goals. My mind isn’t on that.”

I’ve always said I feel good at Bayern, I have a great coach. I get along well with my teammates.

I’m relaxed about that (smiles). I’m under contract with Bayern. I have goals. I’m very grateful if there are clubs interested in me.
So there are no promises, no doors are closed, and nothing is particularly advanced. Many things seem possible, and perhaps PSG can have a glimmer of hope. However, it’s still a long way off.
Upamecano is also in negotiations, and it’s best to keep some cards close to his chest. They shouldn’t put everyone off. Also, if he were to leave, Real Madrid would be the favorite. Let’s wait and see; a surprise is still possible.
