Ilya Zabarnyi, the 22-year-old central defender from Bournemouth (contract runs until 2028) and Ukraine, has been announced as a defensive priority for Paris Saint-Germain this mercato. There is even talk of some progress towards a transfer to PSG. Today, journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that it’s finally all but settled.
Little by little, these announcements are bound to be confirmed. Several media outlets are reporting that the transfer is almost complete, and this is no doubt not by chance. It’s still difficult to understand exactly when that might be. Every media outlet wants to be involved and says it’s coming soon… but we don’t know when, or what exactly is missing.
But the main thing is becoming clear, with Zabarnyi certainly on his way to PSG. We’ll only be happy with something concrete, as the mercato knows how to surprise. But this is an excellent defender with a very bright future who looks set to sign for Paris.
