Following Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-1 victory at the Parc des Princes on Wednesday, former Manchester United frontman Rio Ferdinand didn’t mince his words to TNT Sports when talking about the club from the capital. In his opinion, PSG are favourites to go all the way.

“I see them as favorites to win the Champions League right now…”

Strong words, but fair, as PSG have clearly changed their face this season. There are no more gaps in these little games, and it’s hard to see who else could worry them apart from Arsenal, Inter Milan and, of course, Barcelona.

If these three teams are impressive, it’s also due to the level of their opponents and, above all, their style of play. Dortmund opened the floodgates against Barcelona, while PSG played on a bus organized by Unai Emery. We’ll see if PSG make it through to the quarter-finals, but clearly, we’re entitled to dream bigger.
