Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 23-year-old SSC Napoli striker under contract until 2027, was the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club didn’t open the door despite pressure from his entourage. There is a new Parisian attempt this winter. Calciomercato claims that sports consultant Luis Campos has a meeting scheduled with agent Mamuka Jugeli to move forward.
A transfer that’s moving forward, but not yet clear.
“A meeting between PSG sporting consultant Campos and the Georgian’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, is scheduled to take place shortly to discuss figures and contract details. Liverpool are also very interested in the number 77, although for the time being the French are ahead in negotiations with Napoli. The same applies to negotiations with the player’s agent, given that the pressing began at the end of last season.
It’s not yet known how much Al-Khelaifi is prepared to offer, including bonuses, for Kvaratskhelia. But one thing is certain: De Laurentiis is prepared to “settle” for much less than the 100 million plus he demanded last summer.”
There can be no certainty without an official announcement. So we can only remain cautious and patient. But many media outlets agree that PSG is on the move and that there is hope, with negotiations more open than last summer. Perhaps not for nothing.
Now, the price and the state of discussions vary according to the media, so it’s hard to see clearly. Even if they all claim that Paris is ahead of the game. Nothing’s certain until it’s signed.
The Kvaratskhelia dossier is set to be a major story of the mercato, and perhaps the outcome will be more gratifying for PSG than last summer. But we shouldn’t celebrate too quickly.
