Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, SSC Napoli’s 23-year-old striker under contract until 2027, was the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club didn’t open the door despite pressure from his entourage. PSG came back this winter, and this time the Neapolitan club opened up to the Georgian’s desire to leave. A number of media outlets reported that the two clubs had reached an agreement, or close to it, on Monday, and several journalists confirmed this evening.
“Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is now just one step away from Paris Saint-Germain.
Earlier today, a meeting took place between the two clubs and negotiations are being finalized.
The agreement between the Georgian and the French club is complete.
A contract until 2029 is ready for him.”
It’s not yet official confirmation, but there’s almost no doubt about it tonight. It’s very rare for all the media to agree at the same time without any basis for doing so. PSG have clearly made progress with Napoli and should be able to make Kvaratskhelia’s arrival official in the next few days.
Beware, however, as the mercato can sometimes be very surprising, and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is capable of displaying a certain character. So we’ll have to wait for an announcement from either the club or the player before rejoicing.
