Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, the 23-year-old SSC Napoli striker under contract until 2027, had been the target of a concrete offer from Paris Saint-Germain during the 2024 summer mercato, but his club had not opened the door despite pressure from his entourage. This winter, PSG managed to reach an agreement that would be in the region of €70 million plus bonuses. This Wednesday, La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that the Georgian’s salary in Paris will be much higher than that at Napoli.
“Gazzetta: Kvaratskhelia arrives this Wednesday at PSG, total agreement for 75M (including bonuses), 4 and a half year contract, salary to rise from 1.8M to 11M (including bonuses) in Paris.”
We remain cautious. We’ve already seen how the Italian press can inflate figures. But we suspect that Kvaratkshelia’s salary will be higher than that at Napoli. He was in negotiations for a pay rise, but no agreement was reached with Napoli. PSG could have been more convincing.
But it’s a little unfair to compare him with his former salary, which should rightly increase given his performances.
