On Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain played their final match of the Champions League group stages against VfB Stuttgart (1-4 video highlights Stuttgart/PSG). The victory sees the club from the capital reach the last sixteen of the competition, despite being off to a poor start. After the match, Parisian club president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi spoke to PSG TV.
Nasser Al-Khelaïfi “I was sure we would qualify.”
“Very happy with this victory. It wasn’t easy. We were almost eliminated from this competition and today we’ve qualified. We finished fifteenth and it’s a magnificent result for us. I still believe in our project and our objectives. I have total confidence in my players and my coach. It wasn’t easy, but I was sure we’d qualify.
The fans were very important to our qualification. They’ve always been there and I hope we’ll go as far as we can in this competition. But we know that this competition is difficult. Maybe we’ll play a French club, we want to watch the draws, but we’ll be ready for this game.”
