Stade Brestois hosted Paris Saint-Germain this Saturday at 5:00 pm for the 20th day of Ligue 1. The match had a foretaste of the Champions League, as SB29 will be the Parisians’ next opponent in the play-offs, in a double-header. And to say the least, the match had all the makings of a clash, ending 2-5 (video highlights Brest/PSG). Romain Faivre, midfielder for the Breton club, spoke to bein SPORTS about the heavy defeat:
Faivre: “At 2-1, they’re not serene…”
It’s a heavy defeat, but what can we take away from this match?
What we can remember is that, overall, we played a good game. They’re great teams, and we know that you pay for your mistakes. At two to 1, they weren’t at their best – well, at one point I don’t really know – and it took our legs away when they scored the goal.
Is that how we can upset PSG by creating a bit of madness?
We know that at home the public pushes us. When we play here, we want to make it difficult for our opponents. Whether it’s PSG or another team. I think we gave them doubts, but mistakes are paid for in cash.
You’ll be meeting up again in 10 days’ time, won’t it be the same competition?
Inevitably, we’ll have to prepare well.
