Virtual reality (VR) is taking hold everywhere, even in sports. Paris Saint-Germain and beIN Sport are teaming up to offer Ligue 1 matches in VR for American fans. An immersive room is planned for this purpose.
“Paris Saint-Germain and beIN SPORTS join forces to bring Ligue 1 matches in VR to American fans! The club is proud to announce the launch of an immersive room on Xtadium.”
In France, they had tested broadcasting sporting events in VR, but due to the lack of democratization in homes and certainly because of the low profitability, everything came to a halt. In the U.S., the context is different, with an ever-increasing acceptance of new technologies. However, it would be very interesting to see virtual reality used again for soccer matches in France. The concept is now more present in France, and the question of a return could be interesting.
