This Saturday evening, Paris Saint-Germain won 4-1 (PSG/Lille video highlights) against Lille on Matchday 24 of Ligue 1 2024-2025 at the Parc des Princes. Here we present you with some of the highlights and lowlights of the victory.
Tops –
A crazy first half
Rarely have we seen PSG so strong in the first half. What’s more, PSG took the scalp of another podium contender. PSG attacked as a team, with phenomenal strength. Lille was unable to resist, suffocated by a Red and Blue tide.
Dembélé keeps on scoring, Doué again goals and assists
If Dembélé is the player of 2025, Doué is also the man who changed the face of PSG. We don’t mention him as much, because he’s young and has time on his side, but his goal was magnificent, as was his cross for Marquinhos. If you add Barcola and the others, you’re looking at an untouchable armada in France. The big test will be the Champions League. These players will have to prove themselves on Wednesday.
Neves (and Ruiz)
Neves is the prototypical Luis Enrique player. Altruistic, a passer, a fighter and extremely intelligent. Ruiz, on the other hand, is a player you don’t see as much, yet he creates danger and also knows how to recover balls or come out very cleanly. PSG have few weaknesses in Ligue 1, but as for the forwards, we’ll have to pass the next test, with the Champions League and Liverpool, the Premier League giants.
Flops –
An over-managed second half
If Paris stopped, it’s also because after half-time, the Liverpool game got into their heads. They’d done their job beforehand, so it’s understandable that they slackened off. That said, going all out, all the time, is what wins the biggest competitions. Against Liverpool, the management will have to be more measured.
Another goal taken
This PSG team attacks so hard that it takes a lot of goals. This evening’s goal could be described as avoidable, but in reality, all of them are somewhat so. PSG could easily have closed the game down, but they wanted to keep on attacking and, inevitably, at some point, slacking off and looking elsewhere, they stopped making every possible effort. That won’t be forgiven against Liverpool.
