This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain take on Liverpool at the Parc des Princes in the Champions League Round of 16, second leg, 2024-2025 (kick-off 9pm, broadcast on Canal+). On the eve of the match, RMC Sport confirmed the likely Parisian line-up already announced, but added that Désiré Doué could end up playing in midfield to leave Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in attack. Perhaps with Fabian Ruiz coming off the bench?
Barcola – Dembélé – Doué
Ruiz – Vitinha – Neves
Mendes – Pacho – Marquinhos – Hakimi
Donnarumma.
As always, we remain cautious, although coach Luis Enrique always knows how to surprise, and on several occasions we have seen the official line-up differ from that announced by the media. All the more so for the previous day’s line-up. However, over the last few matches in the Champions League, a “standard team” has taken shape, and certain choices are becoming fairly certain.
There is some doubt about Désiré Doué (19), who can play in midfield or attack. In midfield, it’s Fabian Ruiz (28) who’s competing with him, and offensively it’s probably Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (24). But the Spanish coach may have a clear idea, given the analysis of his opponents, of what is “expected”.
We can’t wait for the certainties, with the official announcement tomorrow evening. Although we’ll need to wait until kick-off to be sure, as some positions may be unclear when the 11 starters are announced.
