Désiré Doué, Paris Saint-Germain’s 19-year-old midfielder/attacker, spoke to beIN SPORTS after the team’s 1-4 victory over Rennes (video highlights Rennes/PSG) on Saturday at Roazhon Park as part of Matchday 25 of Ligue 1 2024-2025. He spoke about this complicated success and Tuesday night’s Champions League Round of 8 second leg against Liverpool.
Doué: “It was our objective to come here and take home the three points, so we’re very happy.”
How satisfied are you to be unbeaten?
Yes, that was the aim of coming here and taking home the three points.
How does it feel to be back here with your old team-mates?
It’s a great pleasure, and the fans have given me a very warm welcome once again. I had the opportunity to say hello to them and my team-mates, and it was great to see them again. This is still the club where I grew up, which gave me the chance to start my career, and without them I wouldn’t be here, so I’m very happy to be back here.
Two faces of PSG: where did the difference come from?
We made the difference, it wasn “t easy. I was on the other side of the pitch so I know. We’ve always caused PSG problems. Today, they gave us a few, but we managed to be effective and come away with the win.
Doué “We’ve got a good mentality, we’re confident we’ll go there and win.”
Are you everywhere on the pitch?
Our instructions are to keep moving and the coach gives us good instructions. That’s important for the future.
What’s your mindset ahead of the trip to England to take on Liverpool?
We’ve got a good mentality, we’re confident, and we’re going there to win.
Was it important to regain your confidence?
It wasn’t lost, we’re confident, we’re working very hard and we’re going there to win.
