Every month, the UNFP organizes the election of the best player in Ligue 1. For February 2022, 2 Paris Saint-Germain players were in the final: Achraf Hakimi (26-year-old right-back) and Ousmane Dembélé (27-year-old striker). They were in competition with Amine Gouiri (25-year-old striker from Olympique de Marseille). The Marseille player came out on top.
That’s hardly surprising, even if Hakimi and Dembélé performed very well throughout February. Gouiri made a remarkable arrival at OM, revitalizing the attack and scoring several decisive goals.
Not to mention the fact that the Parisian vote may have been split between the two players, whereas all the Marseillais were undoubtedly in agreement in favor of Gouiri.
