Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, Chairman of Paris Saint-Germain and beIN Media Group, has been the target of a number of complaints and investigations in recent years, and a new case was announced on Friday. Le Parisien reports that the executive’s former assistant has launched proceedings before the Paris industrial tribunal for dismissal without real or serious cause.
Clearly, there was a disagreement between the former assistant and beIN SPORTS over the position occupied, with offers of promotion allegedly being refused, whereas the complainant maintains that it was more a question of demotion. She was also pressured to stop having children after her first maternity leave. Of course, beIN SPORTS denied this.
As is often the case with such an affair, there are quite different versions, and we’ll have to wait and see. But Al-Khelaïfi and beIN SPORTS are not necessarily guilty or innocent. Speaking to RMC Sport, his entourage responded:
“Instead, we trust in the rule of law and the judicial system.”
“In recent years, we have unfortunately become accustomed to completely insane, unfounded and perfectly coordinated smear campaigns by certain individuals – often based on false documents and testimony – to which we will not do the honor of reacting further in the media.
Instead, we trust in the rule of law and the judicial system, and will continue to pursue all our legal actions, often as victims, with complete and serene confidence.”
The next step is expected around July, with the labor tribunal’s response to this hearing.
