Speaking on CBS Sports Golazo, 1998 world champion Thierry Henry praised the impact of Paris Saint-Germain since the arrival of Qatari investors. He highlighted the profound transformation of the Parisian club, both in terms of its image and the safety and experience offered to fans at the Parc des Princes.
Henry “You changed everything”
“I want to say thank you. You’ve changed the way people see PSG. When I was growing up, that wasn’t the case. You’ve changed everything: the community, people being able to come and see the match properly at the Parc des Princes, which hasn’t always been the case in history.
I’d like you to bring a new star to France. I want Paris Saint-Germain to win the Champions League because it will highlight what you’ve done and how you’ve done it.
Henry “We weren’t always safe during games at the Parc des Princes”.
We weren’t always safe when we played at the Parc des Princes. Since the Qataris arrived, you have to give them a lot of credit. They’ve turned it into a secure, recognized zone. I’m delighted that Paris is in a position to bring a second star to French soccer.”
Thierry Henry’s speech shows that Qatar has taken the measure of what it has in its hands. With hard work and time, it seems that investors are finally pulling in the right direction. We’d like the club to bring home its first LDC, the first in France since 1993 and rival Marseille.
That said, even without a win, PSG will have found respect from all quarters, and clearly, this team will no longer be looked upon in the same way in the months to come. We need to stay the course, continue to grow and add to our squad, but more than ever, PSG is on the right track.
