Every month, the UNFP organizes the election of the best player in Ligue 1. For the April 2025 edition, no Paris Saint-Germain player is in the final. The competition is between Mason Greenwood (23-year-old attacking midfielder from Olympique de Marseille), Rayan Cherki (21-year-old striker from Olympique Lyonnais) and Emanuel Emegha (22-year-old striker from Strasbourg).
“Ladies and gentlemen, here are the three nominees for the Ligue1 Player of the Month Trophy for April
R.Cherki, E.Emegha and M.Greenwood
They are nominated for the UNFP Player of the Month Trophy for April.”
It’s easy to understand why PSG are absent from this selection, with a month of April mainly focused on the Champions League and less impressive in the league (1-0 win over Angers, 2-1 win over Le Havre, 1-1 draw at Nantes and 1-3 loss to Nice).
There were some fine performances nonetheless, but other Ligue 1 players deserved a place in the spotlight. Greenwood, Cherki and Emegha are undoubtedly among them, with many decisive moves. And as is often the case, it’s the attacking players who make the biggest impact.
