This Wednesday, Paris Saint-Germain take on Girona at the Parc des Princes for the 1st day of the Champions League phase (kick-off 9pm, broadcast on Canal+). With 3 days to go before the match, Djamel announced some good news, which was quickly confirmed by L’Equipe: 18-year-old midfielder Warren Zaïre-Emery is back in training. As for Vitinha, 24, there’s no sign of him in training and he could be out. Everything will depend on Monday’s training session for both players.

This is the latest information, but we still don’t really know what’s going to happen. Vitinha may find it difficult to return, with no training in his legs, and he may lack pace (if he recovers). As for Zaïre-Emery, his return on Sunday suggests that coach Luis Enrique is doing some tests in preparation for Wednesday. PSG will need to call on their key players, but have shown that they don’t necessarily need to force their way back in, at the risk of both players relapsing. We’ll know more on Monday, when training will be closely observed.
