Lee Kang-In, the 24-year-old Korean midfielder, arrived at the summer mercato in July 2023 from Mallorca, and is under contract at Paris Saint-Germain until June 2028. He has achieved some fine things, but is struggling to fully establish himself, and there is talk of a departure this mercato. Today, Corriere dello Sport confirms Napoli’s desire to recruit him.
“CorSport confirms: Napoli step up their interest in Lee Kang-In!
The European champions have been officially informed of Napoli’s interest.
The player wants to play and aspire to have more importance than in the season just ended.”
Lee has been linked with Napoli for a few days now, so perhaps it’s not for nothing. Even so, you can’t be sure with rumors alone. Especially as there aren’t all the media outlets to confirm it. It’s a possible transfer, with the Korean international aspiring to more playing time and PSG open to negotiation.
However, it’s still far from a done deal. There are many other possible outcomes. Negotiations could stall, another club could come forward, Paris isn’t necessarily particularly keen to sell, not to mention the fact that the player hasn’t asked to leave yet.
So we’ll have to wait and see. As is often the case during the mercato.
