Ilya Zabarnyi, the 22-year-old central defender from Bournemouth (contract runs until 2028) and Ukraine, has been announced as a defensive priority for Paris Saint-Germain this mercato. Foot Mercato confirms this Saturday that PSG is moving towards a transfer, while the player is already ready to come.
“Negotiations have resumed between PSG and Bournemouth for Zabarnyi
The English are now more reasonable about the price set for the Ukrainian defender. No new official offer from PSG yet.
Zabarnyi has an agreement with PSG for a contract until June “
We’re cautious until there’s something official, but a number of fairly reliable media reports point in the direction of a breakthrough. There’s probably some truth to it. At least, there is reason to believe that Paris is indeed working on recruiting Zabarnyi.
Which makes sense, given the defender’s defensive qualities and ability on the ball, as well as a career to be written with progression and desire. The move to PSG would certainly tempt him.
However, this is no guarantee. We’ll have to wait and see, as negotiations between the clubs may remain complicated. A stalemate remains a possibility. So could a transfer.
