The 2025 summer mercato is now open in France until 8pm on September 1, so the rumors surrounding Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. This time, it’s L’Equipe who has put together an overview of PSG’s tracks and the positions they would like to recruit this summer.

“Goalkeeper
Right wing
Central defender
Defensive midfielder
Right wing
Axial forward”
It’s all very credible, but still rather vague. Above all, these are positions that are easy enough to think about as you look around the squad and think about another busy season ahead. Expanding the squad seems a wise move. But we remain cautious, as there’s nothing very concrete, and the leads that seem to be moving forward are few and far between (Ilya Zabarnyi?).
There’s no guarantee that PSG will recruit in every position, and the mercato is always complicated. In the striker’s position, for example, the situation of Gonçalo Ramos (24) is a case in point. He may have disappointed, but he has talent and a superb mentality. It won’t be easy to find a top-class player willing to stand in the shadow of Ousmane Dembélé.
Overall, we also wonder how much PSG wants to rely on its youngsters already in the professional squad for other positions: Noham Kamara (central defender), Gabriel Moscardo (defensive midfielder) and Ibrahim Mbaye (right winger) in particular. Recruitment is possible, but not at any price.
So let’s remain cautious. Recruits are possible, but there’s nothing certain today. Although we do expect at least some enquiries for these positions.
