Having arrived in the 2023 summer mercato from Inter Milan, 30-year-old defender Milan Skriniar has not made the move to Paris Saint-Germain. His contract expires in June 2028, and he has been loaned out to Fenerbahçe for the second half of the 2024-2025 season. He has bounced back well and there has been talk of a permanent move to the Turkish club this summer. This Monday, Ajansspor reports that the transfer is almost complete, as the clubs have reached an agreement.
“Fenerbahçe and PSG have reached an agreement in principle for the transfer of Milan Skriniar.
Details of the deal:
Transfer fee: 12 million euros plus 3 million euros bonus.
Skriniar’s salary: 9 million euros, including bonuses.
Salim Manav, Ajansspor”
15 million euros is more or less the amount we’ve been talking about since the beginning of the case, and it’s quite credible. It remains a good sale for PSG. PSG had recruited Skriniar at the end of his contract at Inter Milan, and then saw the Slovakian struggle to make a place for himself following his back injury, as well as the arrival of a new coach (Luis Enrique). As far as Fenerbahçe are concerned, it’s a reasonable outlay for a player who has made a good comeback and will be paid a substantial salary.
However, it’s not yet official. But the transfer has been taking shape in the media for several days, and seems to be close. We’ve already seen, however, that the exact timing and amount are difficult for the media to pin down. Let’s hope for confirmation soon.
