Paris Saint-Germain faced Real Madrid in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup on Wednesday (4-0, video highlights PSG/Real Madrid). After the match, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique spoke to PSG TV about his side’s stunning victory.
Enrique “We’re happy, we’re in the final, it’s been an incredible season.”
“It’s a very special moment for us Parisians, for all the supporters, the whole club. I think we did our job very well, and played a very good match. We’re happy, we’re in the final, it’s been an incredible season.
We want to win this final. Everyone saw the sweltering heat, it’s incredible to play in it. I think it affected both teams, but we kept on playing and fighting. I think it’s very nice for all the Parisians”.
A magnificent victory for PSG against Real Madrid in very difficult conditions. PSG were also without defenders William Pacho and Lucas Hernandez, both suspended for the last two games of the competition. In the end, however, it was a formality for the Parisians.
Real Madrid, with their attacking trio including star player Kylian Mbappé, were no match for the Parisian collective. Luis Enrique’s men now face a new final against English club Chelsea on Sunday. A match that could once again see them make history, but this time on top of the world.
