Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 26-year-old goalkeeper who joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2021 with a contract until 2026 (following the end of his contract at AC Milan), is at the heart of the rumors. His contract extension has not materialized, and there is talk of a departure, along with Lucas Chevalier (23, Lille and French national team). Sport Mediaset now claims that one final meeting is still planned to finalize the matter.

“The game is not over yet.”

“Donnarumma’s chapter. PSG blocked Chevalier from Lille to protect themselves in case Gigio’s renewal is not possible, which is now very likely. The game is not over yet.”

This week, PSG and Donnarumma’s entourage will meet. If no agreement is reached, he will leave this year and not be a free agent next summer. Italy is a difficult option, but it’s not completely out of the question today, with a foreign option (from an Italian perspective, editor’s note) being more likely.

Chelsea and Galatasaray are interested, but it’s unlikely Donnarumma will be open to that destination. Currently, only two teams have expressed concrete interest.”

This is still just a rumor, and therefore nothing certain. But, even if it’s not a meeting that could likely lead to an agreement, it’s a reminder that the Donnarumma deal isn’t over. Similarly, the Chevalier transfer is not a given.

The trend is toward a goalkeeper change at PSG, except that the transfer window can change quickly. Let’s not forget that an extension was likely not long ago. As long as it’s not concrete, anything remains possible. Especially without an agreement (or a blockage) announced and confirmed by multiple sources.
