Lucas Chevalier, 23-year-old goalkeeper for Lille (contract until 2027) and the French national team, is rumored to be close to Paris Saint-Germain in this transfer window to replace Gianluigi Donnarumma (26 years old, contract until 2026 and extension blocked). Lille president Olivier Letang confirmed the transfer at a press conference
“We’ve selected the players who can leave. For Lucas, we had a very emotional moment yesterday because we spent 4 1/2 years building a career and goodbyes are always special moments. In terms of emotions, it was really special. There was sadness and pride. I’m happy for him. I would have liked to have been able to keep him, but we’re moving forward.”
There’s no doubt about it, Chevalier is leaving Lille and should officially join PSG in the next few hours. This is the first major signing of the Parisian summer, with Ilya Zabarnyi (22-year-old defender from Bournemouth and Ukraine) expected to follow. And perhaps a few other players, but there’s nothing specific yet.
