Fresh off winning the Champions League along with a domestic double, Paris Saint-Germain will begin their new season with fresh objectives. Speaking to UEFA’s official website, PSG head coach Luis Enrique outlined his ambitions — and those of his team — for the upcoming campaign.
Enrique: “We all believe we can win them all”
“The objective for the coming season is to improve. In terms of the number of trophies, it will be more difficult. But from a footballing perspective, I believe we will improve collectively, both in attack and in defense. I think we can still identify phases of play that need improving.”
“As for the trophies, we want to be ready to compete for all of them. Of course, we all believe we can win them all and repeat that feat this year, which would mean entering history through the front door — and that gives us special motivation.”
PSG proved throughout the second half of last season that they had one of the best collective units in Europe. With added experience and ongoing recruitment, there is every reason to believe the Parisian club can produce another outstanding campaign.
Naturally, it would be unrealistic to expect XXL performances as early as September. The team will once again need time to build momentum in order to be at 100% come January and February. But overall, there is huge optimism around this PSG side, which dazzled the football world during their last European run.
