On Sunday at the Stade de la Beaujoire, Paris Saint-Germain claimed victory in their Ligue 1 2025-2026 opener against Nantes with a 0-1 win (video highlights Nantes/PSG). After the match, as we will do from now on after every game, we asked our readers to vote for the best Parisian player. The winner was 25-year-old midfielder Vitinha.
It was a logical choice, as Vitinha acted as the conductor of PSG’s play. In a match largely dominated by Paris, he dictated the tempo, created chances, and also contributed defensively. On top of that, he scored the game’s only goal—something that naturally tipped the scales in his favor. It was hard to see anyone surpassing him, especially as PSG lacked the creativity and finishing touch to fully convert their dominance.
There were, however, other notable performances. Lee Kang-In tried to inject creativity, while Ilya Zabarnyi impressed in his very first outing in the Parisian defense. Beside him, Lucas Beraldo also put in a solid display. The voting results reflected the match itself: PSG dominated and were defensively strong, but struggled with creativity.
Thank you for your votes! As a reminder, the podium from each match will contribute to the election of the Player of the Month.
