Arnau Tenas, a 24-year-old Spanish goalkeeper who signed with Paris Saint-Germain until 2026 in the summer of 2023 after his contract with FC Barcelona expired, has had almost no playing time so far. He will therefore be leaving, most likely for Villarreal. L’Equipe confirmed on Monday that the transfer is imminent.
“As announced by much of the Spanish press and confirmed by L’Equipe, Arnau Tenas is expected to play for Villarreal next season. The Spanish club has not yet reached a full agreement with Paris Saint-Germain, but negotiations are close to completion.”
Several media outlets have agreed in a short period of time, so there is very little doubt left. Even if the transfer market can still surprise us as long as nothing is concrete, we have already seen this happen. But there is reason to believe that the Tenas case will soon be officially settled. This would be a great opportunity for the Spanish goalkeeper, while PSG would be parting ways with a player who no longer had a place in the team. It is also a low-cost option for the Spanish club, which has qualified for the Champions League.
