Here’s our saga. The 5 good reasons to follow a match (with some adaptations sometimes). We’ll revisit the attractive features before each match with a mix of seriousness and humor. Please note, this isn’t an exhaustive overview. We continue here with the match between Paris Saint-Germain (3rd) this Saturday against Toulouse (2nd) at the Stade de France on Matchday 3 of Ligue 1 2025-2026 (kick-off 9:05 p.m.,CET).

5 – A very serious opponent.

PSG was really bothered by Toulouse last season, with coach Carles Martinez Novell managing to put together a very strong defensive unit and a certain composure on the ball. Even if he lacked offensive efficiency. The season has started very successfully with 0-1 wins against Nice and 2-0 against Brest. Clearly, they should be wary.

4- Ilya Zabarnyi nears confirmation.

The 22-year-old central defender, who arrived this summer from Bournemouth, has only played one match for PSG, two weeks ago against Nantes. It’s unclear if he’ll be a starter, but we expect to see him again as he continues his adaptation to Paris. We’re hoping for confirmation of his strength in duels and his ease with forward passes.

3 – Any reaction from Warren Zaïre-Emery?

The 19-year-old midfielder hasn’t been called up to the French national team for the first time in a while, which comes at the end of a somewhat complicated spell since his ankle injury during his first match with France. At PSG, he’s no longer a starter. He shouldn’t lose confidence, but rather respond by asserting himself more. Perhaps as early as this Saturday.

2 – Désiré Doué in midfield?

We’ve mostly seen the 20-year-old former Rennes player up front under coach Luis Enrique, but he’s played more in midfield this early in the season. This could be a move by coach Luis Enrique to keep the team unpredictable and ready for all situations. We’ll see if this continues, without forgetting the impact it has on the attack.

1 – Finish well before the break.

PSG has only just resumed, but it’s already the end of the first half of the season. At least it’s a break with 2026 World Cup qualifiers, matches that are more interesting than other times. In any case, we’ll have to finish on a high note, so we can calmly await the restart and the Champions League. We shouldn’t give away any information to those who like to over-dramatize.
