Vitinha (25, Paris Saint-Germain midfielder) shared his thoughts with the press after Portugal’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Armenia. Having stayed on the pitch until the final whistle, he underlined his team’s collective quality and determination, describing it as “an almost perfect performance” ahead of the next match against Hungary.

Vitinha: “It was an almost perfect performance”

“I’m happy I was able to play the full match because I love being on the pitch. The coach’s choices are always the best ones. I felt good and I’m ready for the next game. We know, and we have the responsibility, to take this step. It was an almost perfect performance. We slipped up a little at times, but that’s normal and something we will correct.”

Vitinha: “We have quality today, tomorrow, and always”

“We have quality today, tomorrow, and always. It’s something innate and part of who we are. What we often lack wasn’t missing today. The desire and determination we showed on the pitch are an extra weapon for the coach and the tactical setup.

It was a performance close to perfection, with some more relaxed moments, which is natural. A very complete performance from us; that’s the approach we need to maintain. Now it’s time to rest and prepare for the match against Hungary.”

Vitinha is a player on the rise. Last season marked a turning point for him, and now he seems to be regarded as one of the best in the world in his position. Seeing him deliver strong performances match after match highlights his consistency and reliability. Within the Portugal squad, his spot in the starting XI is no longer in question. He is becoming a top-class player, displaying underrated qualities and not yet receiving the full recognition he deserves. His performance against Armenia illustrates just how much he has grown, both at PSG and with the national team. The hope now is that he can continue to develop and lead PSG and Portugal to more major victories.
