Vitinha, the 26-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder, spoke to Ligue1+ following PSG’s 1-0 victory over Troyes this Saturday at the Parc des Princes, as part of Matchday 10 of the 2026-2027 Ligue 1 season.
Vitinha: “You can end up losing your patience”
It’s never easy playing against teams that sit deep—you touched the ball 170 times; what makes these kinds of matches so difficult?
Good evening. As the coach often says, it’s a “trap” game. That’s exactly the kind of match they played, and—even if it’s subconscious—we struggle to execute everything we want to on the pitch. It’s the sort of game where you can end up losing your patience because things aren’t going your way; that’s not ideal, and you end up forcing things a bit too much. On paper, it’s a more manageable fixture, but in reality, that’s not the case at all. There are always challenges in matches like this.
Vitinha: “We’ll come back and keep this momentum going.”
11 consecutive wins?
That’s important, too—yes. It’s the first time we’ve won every single match between two international breaks. That’s huge. It’s never easy coming back from an international break, but we handled it well. We’ve been consistent, and we need to keep that up. Now, there’s a break for international duty; we need to stay focused, and then, when we return, we’ll keep this momentum going.
