On Saturday at the Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain won their Ligue 1 match against Auxerre 2-0. As we do after every match, we then asked our readers to vote for the best PSG player of the game. Ilya Zabarnyi (a 23-year-old defender) came out on top.
A great victory for the Ukrainian defender, who is settling in well at PSG. He demonstrated his ability to contribute to the team’s possession play and showed his quality in defensive duels. This was particularly evident in the air, although his strengths extend beyond that. This time, he even added his first goal for the club, which certainly made an impression, especially in such a close match.
Interestingly, another defender, Lucas Beraldo (21), who finished in second place, scored the second goal after a solid performance. Even more noteworthy, Lucas Chevalier (the 23-year-old goalkeeper) was among the top three, thanks to two excellent saves. This performance deserves recognition, but we also noticed a slight lack of creativity. Overall, the team played well as a unit, but without any real spark, which meant several players were in contention for the top three spots.
Thank you for your votes. As a reminder, the top three players from each match are used to determine the player of the month.
