Gérald Baticle, the coach of the French U21 national team, has announced his squad for the international break in October (starting next Monday), during which they will face the Faroe Islands (October 10) and Estonia (October 13) in qualifying matches for the 2027 European Under-21 Championship. Two players from Paris Saint-Germain have been called up: Senny Mayulu, a 19-year-old forward/midfielder, and Warren Zaïre-Emery, a 19-year-old midfielder who is currently part of the first team squad.
This is particularly noteworthy for Zaïre-Emery, as returning to the U21 squad after being with the senior team for several call-ups is quite rare. This allows him to continue his involvement with the national team, albeit at a slightly lower level. It will also give him valuable playing time, which could help him regain confidence and match fitness.
As for Mayulu, this is a well-deserved reward after his very strong start to the season with PSG.
